Huddersfield Town travel to Derby County this evening looking to make it eight league games without defeat under Chris Powell.

The Rams have been one of the multitude of early pacesetters in the division, a bracket of teams which includes Nottingham Forest, who fell to a 3-0 defeat at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday as Town combined flair, speed and decisiveness to win at a canter.

Powell felt Saturday's face-off with Stuart Pearce's side would act as a barometer on his side's progress and concedes a trip to the iPro Stadium is perhaps another challenge altogether but the Terriers will head there in confident mood.

The manager reverted back to a 4-4-2 against Forest with Jack Robinson, Sean Scannell and Harry Bunn coming in for Paul Dixon, Lee Peltier and Jonathan Hogg, who is a doubt for this evening's game, and it worked wonders against a shellshocked Forest side.

But will Powell look to make changes once again this evening? He could go with the 4-3-3 which has also served Town well in recent times should Hogg prove his fitness.

Examiner predicted Huddersfield Town starting XI v Nottingham Forest:

Smithies; Smith, Hudson, Lynch, Robinson; Scannell, Butterfield, Coady, Bunn; Wells, Holt.

Compared with our predicted XI, the fans' side is exactly the same, with supporters keen to see the dual attacking line of Grant Holt and Nahki Wells once more with both finding the net on Saturday and Wells' tally over the last two league games stands at three.

The effectiveness of 4-4-2 against both Ipswich and Forest has led to 48.44% of fans selecting it as the formation they wish to see 4-5-1 the next best bet at 18.75% and 4-3-3 received 17.19% of the vote.

Alex Smithies turned in a superb display against Forest and made several crucial saves at important stages of the game, which has led to a whopping 88% choosing him between the sticks.

Tommy Smith's continued domination of the right-back spot should not come to an end in Town fans' eyes, with every single person who voted opting for the 22-year-old to keep his place over former captain Lee Peltier.

Central defence was equally a procession in terms of choice as Mark Hudson and Joel Lynch both received 74.07% and after the latter's goalscoring contribution on Saturday, it is difficult to see Murray Wallace prising one of the two places in the team, despite signing a new deal.

Mark Hudson and Joel Lynch's central defensive partnership may be tested by Murray Wallace, who Powell has promised opportunities to, but for the time being at least, with the Town captain earning 91.18% and Lynch 82.35%.

One of the most tight-fought battles of recent times has been at left-back but Robinson was much-improved on his return to the first team on Saturday and is rewarded by faith in the fans, 81.48% to be precise, with Paul Dixon only attracting 18.52% of votes.

Scannell was the outstanding performer once more against Forest and his place in the starting XI is cemented, with 96.3% of fans believing he is worthy of a starting place and just the solitary vote for Joe Lolley, who is still unfit and will not feature this evening.

In central midfield, Jacob Butterfield and Conor Coady took up their positions with 66.67% apiece and that meant no place in the XI for Hogg, who is likely to miss out and failed to secure a single vote.

On the left, Bunn was the majority choice with an increase on last week's total of 91.18% to 92.59%, while up front Holt and Wells (both 74.07%) were the obvious choices for the two striking berths with weekend substitute Martin Paterson collecting 3.7%.
