Huddersfield Town’s next opponents Wigan Athletic could lose key players Callum McManaman and Shaun Maloney.

West Bromwich Albion seem set to come back with an improved offer for winger McManaman, having had a £4m bid rejected.

Meanwhile Leicester City’s move for Maloney collapsed after the Scotland international midfielder was unable to agree personal terms.

Maloney featured in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at the DW Stadium but is now being linked with American club Chicago Fire.

Wigan, who have home advantage on Saturday, are second-bottom, 10 points behind 17th-placed Town.

Maloney, 31, moved to Wigan from Celtic for £1m in August 2011.

McManaman, 23, came through the Lancashire club’s youth system.
