What a difference a win makes.

Huddersfield Town kick-started their Championship campaign with 2-1 victory at Charlton Athletic on September 15.

And on the other side of London on Tuesday, Wolves produced a pick-me-up performance as they triumphed 3-0 at Fulham.

It was a first win in four in the league and five in all competitions for Kenny Jackett’s side, who jumped to 10th place in the process.

Town, last in action on September 24, when they drew 1-1 at home to Nottingham Forest, are 16th as they prepare for their 10th Championship game and second running live on Sky Sports.

They aim to make it four matches unbeaten in the lunchtime meeting, and seal a third victory in that spell, at a venue where they have picked up all three points in each of their last four visits.

Take a look at pictures from when Town won 3-1 in October 2014.

Sean Scannell has scored in the two most recent, both of which Town won 3-1, and travelling fans would certainly take a repeat in front of the television cameras.

Midfielders are taking up much of the pre-match discussions.

Town’s on-loan Wigan Athletic ace Emyr Huws will head for Molineux buoyed by a Wales call-up and aiming to add to a scoring streak of four goals in three games.

He’ll come up against Kevin McDonald, the in-form former Sheffield United player who is in the latest Scotland squad.

The 26-year-old, who has also been at Burnley and Dundee, has just signed a new contract at Wolves, who have had two games in the time Town have been looking on at the action after that Thursday-night draw with Forest.

The historic club have also been put up for sale by owner Steve Morgan, with this the first home game since he made his unexpected announcement.

Some fans, frustrated by centre-back Richard Stearman’s £2m sale to Fulham, have accused Morgan of failing to invest sufficiently in the bid the bring Premier League football back to the West Midlands venue.

Others might point out that Wolves have made signings, including the £2m purchases of Town midfielder Conor Coady during the summer and former Town loan striker Benik Afobe from Arsenal last January.

Afobe has been a big hit, notching 17 goals in 32 games, but it’s not certain Coady will make the starting side as he returns from a three-match suspension.

That’s down to the recent form of McDonald and homegrown talent Jack Price.
