HAPPY boss Peter Jackson hailed his young guns after Town collected a sixth win in seven games at Brentford.

Pawel Abbott notched his 25th goal of the season to seal the 1-0 victory which disrupted the Londoners' League I play-off push.

But Jackson, whose 10th-placed side have only the most slender of chances of making the top six, was eager to talk about his three centre-backs.

With Nathan Clarke (gashed lip) ruled unfit, John McCombe, 19, came in alongside Tom Clarke, 17, and David Mirfin, 20.

"It was tough out there, but the three of them were outstanding," said Jacko.

"It certainly wasn't our best performance of the season, but the lads dug in and got a great result.

"Pav only had one real chance in the game, but he put it away brilliantly."
