Mark Lillis says selecting a side for Huddersfield Town's Championship clash at Watford tomorrow is "like playing chess" - but he is confident of making a strong challenge for three points.

The stand-in manager is hopeful four-goal top scorer Nahki Wells will be available after an ankle injury, allowing a possible partnership with James Vaughan.

But he has ongoing concerns over Lee Peltier and Tommy Smith (both groin) as well as Jonathan Hogg (calf). "There are a few issues to clear up, and it's been a bit like moving pieces around in a chessboard as we look at possible permutations," said Lillis.

"But the spirit is good and the attitude in training has been excellent, and we are looking forward to the challenge that awaits down there."

Lillis has on-loan Radi Majewski available again after he was ruled out against parent club Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

He can also call on new QPR loan arrival Jack Robinson, who trained with his new teammates before the squad headed for Hertfordshire.

"Jack is a good addition, and while he is primarily a left-back, he can play a number of roles, which is always useful," added Lillis.

Sean Scannell, said to be a target of Championship rivals Millwall, is in Lillis's plans for the Watford clash
