The Bluebirds are currently under a transfer embargo and had previously declared they did not need to sell the forward after sending Kenwyne Jones out on loan to Al Jazira.

However, the two clubs now looked to have thrashed out a deal - meaning he is unlikely to face Town on Saturday. The move could open the door for Town to secure Wolves winger Rajiv van La Parra, who has been playing up front for Kenny Jackett's men since Benik Afobe departed for Bournemouth.

The former West Ham man has been a hit with the Tigers since his move in 2014 and Alan Pardew is keen to give the Senegalese a quicker return to the Premier League.

However, he may face a battle with Steve Bruce, as the Hull boss has gone on record to say he would be "bonkers" to sell any of his stars in this window with the club chasing promotion back to England's top tier.

Fresh from selling Markus Olsson to Derby County, Blackburn Rovers are said to be targeting Danny Fox as his replacement.

The left back is out of favour at Nottingham Forest and Paul Lambert is plotting a move.

Fox has already been told by boss Dougie Freedman he can leave if another club shows interest.
