Manchester United are reportedly deciding whether to loan Sam Johnstone out to Aston Villa, Wolves or Nottingham Forest.

The England youth international is currently United's third-choice keeper with David De Gea and Sergio Romero above him in the Old Trafford pecking order.

And - according to the Mirror - this has led Johnstone and Jose Mourinho to agree to a loan deal for the second half of this season.

And the newspaper believes one of the trio of Championship clubs will be selected by the Man U boss, with Villa reportedly keen on the keeper over the summer.

Joey Barton

Joey Barton's Rangers contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

The controversial midfielder was suspended by the Gers after a dressing room bust-up with boss Mark Warburton following a 5-1 defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic.

A statement from the club read: " Rangers and Joey Barton have agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect. Neither Rangers nor Joey Barton will comment further."

The 34-year-old has been linked with a host of Championship sides including Derby County and Leeds United.

A long list of Championship sides are believed to be interested in Leicester's Polish teenager Bartosz Kaputska.

The 19-year-old joined the Foxes for £7.5m over the summer following a string of top performances at Euro 2016, but has yet to feature in Claudio Ranieri's side.

Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City, Wolves and Derby have all been linked to a loan deal for the teenager by the Polish media.

The 13-time capped Polish international still has four and a half years on his Leicester contract.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has revealed he is not focusing on January just yet, with nine fixtures still to play for the TOon before January.

He said: “No, we are not interested in the market at the moment. We just concentrate on games.

“Obviously, we are working and we are in contact with our scouts and everyone. And we have a lot of information.

“We don’t need to do anything at the moment, just concentrate on games and prepare for January - but in another way, because we don’t need to sell.”
