Huddersfield Town could launch a bid for Middlesbrough left winger Mustapha Carayol.

Sources suggest the 26-year-old Gambian is of interest.

The former Bristol Rovers man is well regarded but currently down the pecking order at Boro, who could loan him out.

Carayol, who signed a new contract through to 2017 earlier this year, has yet to feature this season.

He was sidelined by a knee injury in March 2014, and had a loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion last term.

His five appearances included the goalless draw with Town at the Amex Stadium in April.

Born in Banjul, Gambia, Carayol came to England as a teenager.

After spells at Swindon Town and Macclesfield Town, he was handed a first professional deal at MK Dons.

He made his senior bow during a loan stint with Crawley Town.

Carayol then has stints at Torquay United, Kettering Town (loan) and Lincoln City.

Signed by Boro from Bristol Rovers three years ago, he has made more than 200 career appearances.
