Busy few days for Brighton

According to the Argus, Brighton fans are in a for a few exciting days before the window shuts.

The Seagulls want a striker in before the deadline at the end of Monday (11pm to be exact). Seriously, is there any team not chasing a striker at this point?

However, they’re also willing to let a few leave. Anyone you’d like to see at Town?

Bonkers Bruce

Steve Bruce is determined to keep hold of his big names as hull plot their course back to the Premier League.

In their way?

Crystal Palace, who want Mohamed Diame to aid their own path up the table. But Bruce has said he’d be “bonkers” to sell any of his stars this window.

Bolton struggling to offload high earners

Cash-strapped Bolton are apparently struggling to offload their high earners this window and may have to sell Academy graduates Zach Clough and Josh Vela.

Swansea are keen on the pair but are hoping Wanderers lower their valuation of the pair as the window comes to a close and the need to raise funds gets greater.

Vela’s proposed switch to Cardiff was canned by the Bluebirds’ transfer embargo while Clough refused a move to Bristol City.

Blackburn want Fox?

Fresh from selling Markus Olsson to Derby County, Blackburn Rovers are said to be targeting Danny Fox as his replacement.

The left back is out of favour at Nottingham Forest and Paul Lambert is plotting a move.

Fox has already been told by boss Dougie Freedman he can leave if another club shows interest.

Mason deal due in 24-48 hours

Latest reports from the Midlands suggest Joe Mason’s move to Wolves will be done in the next 24-48 hours, which obviously has repercussions for Cardiff City’s line-up against Town at the weekend!

Former Arsenal starlet to make Championship switch?

Remember Chuks Aneke?

Now 22, he was once on Arsenal’s books and had a successful spell at Crewe before moving to Belgium, joining Zulte Waregem in 2014.

Well he could be on his way back, with Ipswich and Bristol City monitoring the situation - as well as League One side Wigan.

The Belgian side have hit considerable financial difficulties and see Aneke as a quick way of raising some cash.

Championship clubs targeting Northampton winger

Rotherham and MK Dons are both rivalling League One side Millwall for the signature of Northampton Town winger Ricky Holmes.

Reports suggest Holmes is in demand after scoring four times in his last six games for the League Two club and is attracting interest from higher up the pyramid.

However, the Cobblers are top of League Two and going for the title so it will presumably take some serious cash for them to be parted with their prize asset.

West Ham want Rhodes?

The Jordan Rhodes story continues to grow and intrigue.

Latest on that one is while Boro may have bid £11m, as reported earlier, West Ham also have him on their striker shortlist.

The Hammers have suffered a few injuries in recent weeks and are looking for a new striker. Who isn’t at this stage?!

Still, any bidding war over Rhodes would be good news for Town’s coffers

Bristol City to beat Leeds for Tomlin?

This would be quite the signing for Bristol City...

Apparently the club are closing in on a loan deal for Bournemouth forward Lee Tomlin, who has been linked with a move to Leeds.

Tomlin has made only six Premier League appearances since moving from Middlesbrough in the summer.

Done deal for Rotherham

Huddersfield fans continue to wait, but Rotherham have now completed a piece of business.

Andrew Shinnie has joined on loan until 7 May 2016 from Birmingham - who themselves are signing Diego Fabbrini from Boro, who have allowed that move after securing Gaston Ramirez.

Phew.

Few more turns of the transfer merry go round likely before the end of the day?

I would suggest so! If it involves the Championship, we’ll have it covered.

Chase on for Ince?

Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham are both apparently keen to land Brighton’s Rohan Ince on loan.

He’s found it difficult to get regular football at the Amex this season and his cause hasn’t been helped by the arrival of Steve Sidwell from Stoke.

Brighton are ready to allow him to leave - but will it be London or Sheffield?

Liverpool's Ryan Kent on the move?

This is an interesting snippet from Coventry...

Liverpool’s Ryan Kent will not be returning on loan, but instead will be looking for “the next step in his development”. It would seem a big step to go straight from League One to the Anfield bench, so could a Championship loan be in the offing first?

And if so...would Wagner get first refusal on his mate’s young talent?

Conflicting reports on Rhodes

Blackburn have denied receiving any bids for the striker and Paul Lambert is planning for life with the talismanic frontman.

Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea have also been linked with his services as well as Boro - and Rovers signing Danny Graham sparked rumours that Rhodes could finally be on his way.

No dice says Lambert.

I suspect this one is going to run and run (and run)

McCormack forcing through move

The latest Daily McCormack has the former Leeds man desperate to force through a move to Boro...and he’s now told friends he’s determined to switch clubs before the deadline on February 1.

With Fulham unable to sign a replacement, they may of course choose to dig their heels in.

Cardiff City to lose Mason?

Very interesting for two reasons - one, it means he’s unlikely to face Town on Saturday when Cardiff visit the John Smith’s Stadium, and two... does that free up a move for van La Parra?

Our story from yesterday on Huddersfield making a second bid for the winger/striker is right here.

Jordan Rhodes a wanted man?

One rumour sure to catch the attention of Town fans is this one concerning Jordan Rhodes.

The Sun report that Middlesbrough want him to fire them to the Premier League - and are willing to bid £11m to get him. That would be a nice January windfall for Town!

What do you make of that one? Is he worth more?
