Halifax’s Lidia Morton produced a strong display to take the 18 and Under Girls title at the Sellers International tournament.

The event, staged at Huddersfield Lawn Tennis and Squash club’s Edgerton base, enjoyed a tight final as Morton pulled back from a set and 4-1 down to take the crown in her final clash with Bolton’s Laurie Clarke.

The Boys 18 and Under final will be between Ben Clark and Dominic Beesley.

In the 12 and Under Boys section all for top seeded players made it through to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals in the 12 and Under Girls have been decided with Manchester’s Jhonayah Fletchman knocking out the No1 seed Amber Woffindin, from Ilkley, 6-4 6-4, while MJ Changwereza, from Purley in Surrey, won through to the final beating Lily Hutchings, from Preston, 7-5 2-6 10-7.

The Mixed Doubles qualifying saw 10 pairs in two groups of five play each other with the group winners going through to the semi-finals to meet the top two seeds today.

The group Winners were the home club pairing of Kate Mallin and Bradley Bond, and Huddersfield and Marsden duo Charlotte Bradshaw and George Sykes.
