Heckmondwike & Carlinghow are setting the early pace in the arrowselfdrive.com Hudderfsield Central Cricket League.

With three wins out of their four games, Heckmondwike have opened up a 12 point advantage over chasing pair Edgerton & Dalton and Old Almondburians.

Heckmondwike were in impressive form as they notched a six wicket win over their nearest challengers Edgerton.

The visitors batted first and set a competitive total of 199-7 with Hasan Patel top scoring with an unbeaten 69 and he received good support from Mahmadsoyeb Gheewala, who hit 52.

Home side Heckmondwike took up the challenge and great knocks from Paul Cooper with 79 and Matthew Crowther 53 eased them through to victory.

Edgerton’s slip allow Old Almondburians to move level on points as they recorded a 39-run victory setting 133 and then bowling out Woolley for 94.

There was an impressive innings from Rohtash Saini of Green Moor in their victory over Crossbank Meths.

Crossbank set 145-7, with James Lord not out on 50, but Saini then served up a match-winning knock of 81 unbeaten as he and Jamie Dixon (44 not out) saw their side through to a nine wicket success.

The top flight’s other winners were Upper Hopton, who beat Holmbridge by six wicket, and Silkstone, who were two wicket winners over Mount.
