The Huddersfield Giants have a duty to fix up the mess they made of trying to reach the Super League play-off semi-finals at the first attempt.

That’s the view of fit-again back-row forward Jason Chan as Huddersfield seek a home sudden-death triumph over Hull FC at the John Smith’s Stadium tonight (8.00).

And the explosive back-row forward is confident his side is ready to deliver.

The newly-crowned Super League minor champions suffered a bitterly-disappointing 22-8 home defeat against Wigan to miss out on the chance to go straight through to the Qualifying semi-final.

But Chan is confident there will be no mistake the second time around and the Giants will move to within a game of the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 5.

“As a group, we were really disappointed with the way we played last week,” said the Papua New Guinea star.

“We’ve spoken about what we did or didn’t do, and we know we are far better than we showed last Thursday.

“We were responsible for what we did, so it’s our responsibility to go out and put it right against Hull tonight.

“This week we’ve knuckled down in training, we’ve had the pads out and we all feel we’re ready to deliver.

“And I’m personally looking forward to that challenge.

“I’ll be up against world-class back-rowers in Gareth Ellis and Danny Tickle, and I always enjoy testing myself against the best.”

And Chan, who has missed 20 weeks of the regular season with knee and biceps injuries, added: “After such an injury-hit season I’m feeling fit and fresh and looking forward to getting ourselves into the next round.”
