Huddersfield Town Ladies Under 14s sealed Sheffield and Hallamshire Girls League title glory for the second season running.

A 3-0 home victory over Doncaster Belles means they can’t be caught with four games still to go.

Windy conditions at Grange Moor made for a difficult game.

But Town adapted better and defended well as Doncaster played with the advantage of the elements in the first half.

Keeper Isobel Pare made a couple of good saves.

And her defensive teammates Rose Priestley, Isobel Boothroyd, Imogen Pow and Laura Walker stood strong.

Town took the lead when Ella Harris was tripped in the penalty area and put away the spot kick.

The second half was even, and Doncaster had a goal disallowed with eight minutes to go.

The let off seemed to spark Town, and they sealed the points with two goals.

Player of the match Harris scored her second from a Tara Duce corner, then Amy Broomhead made the most of good work by Jodie Lodge.

Town, who are also through to the League Cup final, face Wickersley Youth at Grange Moor on Saturday (10.30).

The Under 16s drew 1-1 at home to Doncaster, meaning they can no longer win their title.

It took a late goal from Maddie Walsh to clinch the draw.

Town take on leaders Handsworth Juniors at Storthes Hall on Saturday (10.30).

The Under 12s were defeated 2-0 at Dronfield Town.

Town were on top until the first goal, and created some good chances.

Meg Howarth made a good early save to deny Dronfield.

The teammate Sophie Jackson-Sharp hit the bar, with Macy Ellis unable to control the rebound.

Then Alicia Marriott’s well-hit shot was saved by the excellent Dronfield keeper.

Olivia Burgin shot wide before Macy Ellis had another effort saved. As the ball ran wide, Jackson-Sharp was thwarted.

Dronfield’s opener came after 19 minutes, when Town were unable to deal with a long clearance and the bouncing ball was well controlled and dispatched into the net.

Town lost confidence and control, their passing became erratic and shape was lost.

Dronfield increased their lead early in the second half, with a lob from an acute angle.

Town rarely managed to gain any control of the ball, with only a few half-chances created.

After early dominance, this was a disappointing performance.

Town need a big improvement this Saturday, when they visit seond-placed Sheffield Wednesday (10.30).

Town’s senior second team suffered a 1-0 defeat in their Women’s Premier League Reserve Northern Division match away to Bradford City.

But they put in a strong performance against the leaders as they lost out to a first-half goal.

Hollie Douglas was named player of the match against a side who have been beaten just once in their 13 league games so far and have a three-point advantage over Sheffield FC.

There is no game this weekend for Town, who remain seventh in the eight-team table.
