Ibrar LAatif built on his Heavy Woollen Cup double century with another ton as Kirkburton powered past Meltham in the Drakes Premiership.

Latif, who piled up 221 not out against his former club Scholes the previous weekend to send the Riley Lane club through in the Heavy Woollen, hit 132 at Mean Lane in a 186-run victory.

Andrew Smith chipped in with 69 and Jonny Butterfield 25 in the Burton tally – ex-Cheadle man Muhammad Kashif taking four for 75 – before Matt Crookes with four for 31 and Usman Malvi with three for 29 got to work with the ball to seal victory.

Danny Glover and Danny Wood did the damage for champions Shepley as they took six points off Barkisland at Marsh Lane.

Liam Wiles hit 48 and Craig Glover 32 not out as Shepley built a 186-6 total before skittling Barkisland for 88, Glover taking three for nine and Wood three for 34.

Scholes also chalked their second six-point win with a 49-run victory at Delph.

Kiwi Pete Drysdale compiled an excellent 90 to anchor the Scholes innings around 39 from Tom Chadwick and 36 from skipper Tom Brook.

Brook then claimed his second successive five-wicket haul (five for 38) to put the skids under the Delph reply and, despite 43 from Greg Buckley, Adam France finished them off with five wickets at the other end.

Elland cruised to a 10-wicket win at Holmfirth, where Jack Hendy and ex-Maningham Mills man Wasim Qasim had three wickets apiece as the home side were dismissed for just 76, Jonathan Das (a signing from Wanstead in the Essex Cricket League, hit 49 not out.

Former East Bierley man Yasir Abbas took four for 27 for Hoylandswaine as they dismissed Honley for 128 en route to six points at Far End Lane.

Max Joice again top scored for Honley with 44 but it was not enough as Hoylandswaine got home for the loss of four wickets, Alex Morris leading the way on 31 and Abbas 26 not out.

Skelmanthorpe enjoyed a tremendous bowling performance from ex-Saltaire man Tuseif Arshad, who claimed seven for 44 in their 43-run win over visitors Shelley.

Tim Sykes had 62 and Paul Cummins 50 as Skelmanthorpe put up 204-9, Hasnat Yousaf taking four for 57 and Akhlaq Ahmed three for 77, before dismissing Shelley for 161.

There were two centuries in the Jedi Sports Championship, both in winning causes.

Former Elland and Slaithwaite man Rahul Bakshi hit 102 as Lascelles Hall hit 254-6 at Clayton West, who were then sent back for 114 with Tony Mulhall taking four for 33.

Thongsbridge skipper Ben Raven-Hill was the other with a ton, 108 not out as Thongsbridge totalled 192-8 before dismissing Almondbury Wesleyans for 68, Zafar Iqbal taking four for five.

Jack Smith hit 50 as Marsden scored a second successive win by just one wicket at Moorlands, after restricting the home side to 122-9.

John Greaves was in the runs again with 51 as Broad Oak totalled 224 at home to Emley, who were bowled out for 141 thanks to Jack Wadsworth’s four for 11.

Former Shelley ace Imran Malik had 37 and four for 17 as Linthwaite won a low-scoring affair at Cawthorne, while Charles Dobson hit 61 for Armitage Bridge in their five-wicket win at Hall Bower.

In the Cedar Court Conference, there were wins for Almondbury, Cumberworth, Kirkheaton, Denby Dale, Thurstonland and Upperthong.
