Outlane's Easter Monday Medal was contested on a blustery and eventful day at the club with 90 players taking part.

The wind factor made for some testing conditions. However, the result came down to two players who both put in rounds of a lifetime.

The duo were scratch team players John Lawton (4) and Jarrad Hazelden (3), who both had chances to equal the course record of 66.

Early starter Lawton approached the last hole knowing that a birdie would have given him a share of the course record, but unfortunately a bogey meant he finished with a gross 68.

There was more drama when late starter Hazelden also produced his round of a lifetime.

He had a putt on the last hole to equal the course record, but unfortunately it lipped out and he finished with a gross 67.

The competition was Stableford and it was he who won a better back nine after they both finished on 44 points.

Michael Alexander (14) also matched their 44 points and Trevor Mullins (12) was fourth on 42.

The second division saw Gary Alsop (17) first with 41 and Dennis Pearcey (16) in second place, followed by David Makin (17) and Paul Stephenson (19) on 38.
