Experienced centre Mark Pease has signed for Huddersfield Rugby Union Club.

The 30-year-old has been at Sandal, who finished two places above Huddersfield in the National II North table.

Pease – a sports science specialist at Castleford Tigers, Yorkshire CCC and Sheffield United’s Academy during his career – has previously played at Yorkshire Carnegie, Harrogate and Morley.

He is the latest addition to a long list of players already signed up at Lockwood Park for the 2016-17 National III North campaign.

Huddersfield head coach Gareth Lewis explained: “I’m delighted to be bringing such an experienced and quality player to the club.

“He will add a new dimension to our back line and he brings a lot of experience to really bring out the best in our younger players.

“Mark is a proven performer at this level, is an excellent goal kicker and certainly fits the bill in terms of character.”

Pease is 5ft 11in, weighs in at 14st 6lb and says he’s looking forward to joining the squad.

“I wanted a new challenge and to play for an ambitious club that has the intention to play at the highest standard possible,” said Pease.

“Huddersfield appears to be the ideal fit for me, with what I can bring to the team.”
