Stadium Runners have emerged as cross country victors in the West Yorkshire Winter League.

The John Smiths Stadium-based club clinched four accolades for their successes over the five race 2014 to 15 season at a ceremony in Leeds.

They were crowned third place winners overall thanks to their impressive cumulative results against nine other teams.

Three individual runners also gained trophies for their efforts.

These include club coach Saul Muldoon, who won best performing male vet 40 category, Emily Ledder, who won female vet 35 and Ruth Thompson, who won most improved.

Saul, said: “Great results for Stadium Runners.

“Additionally, Ruth was the only runner to take home two trophies on the night, collecting second in the Female Vet 35 category too.

“It was a very fitting close to some tough racing over a cold, wet, muddy winter.

“Thanks to all the Stadium Runners who took part in this year, contributing not only to our great result, but to the tremendous sense of team support, camaraderie, encouragement and most importantly fun throughout the season.

“I’m looking forward to us doing even better when it all starts again in December.”
