HOLMBRIDGE C scored an 8-1 win in their final match to take the Division VI title in the Huddersfield Badminton League.

The match against mid-table Beaumont Park C was held over and it meant Holmbridge went into battle well behind leaders Flying Feathers and needing a big win.

They got one to round off a season of consistency from all the team in terrific style.

Two key and new members of the Holmbridge line-up have been junior members Molly Holman-Sheard and Oliver Platt.

This has been their first season of match play in the Huddersfield League, having attended the Huddersfield Eagles junior coaching sessions.

One of the Eagles coaches, fellow Holmbridge player Mike Hall, commented: “It has been great to see Molly and Oliver develop their game through the coaching and then taking this through into the league and win, especially in their first season.”

It has been a solid season for the Holmbridge club , as their A team secured second place in the Division IV table to win promotion.
