HUDDERSFIELD Heat extended their lead at the top of Division Four North after a convincing 112-76 triumph over Durham Wildcats.

Although the victory represented a great team performance, Joseph Irving’s terrific haul of 37 points, was the main talking point. Jason Swaine chipped in with 20 points whilst Chris Bigley added 12 and Luke Stangers 11.

A win in the final game of the season against Middlesbrough Lions would guarantee Huddersfield at least a share of top spot with either Warrington Wolves or Burnley Blaze.

Coach Eduardo Perez clearly had his players fired up for this one, and they responded with one of their best displays of the season. Seems the Heat were too hot to handle, and a repeat performance against the Lions will leave them top of the pile.
