BRIAN COUSEN produced some fine form as Huddersfield scored a 5-2 Yorkshire League win over Thorne up at Springwood.

Tony Clegg set Huddersfield off on the right footing with a 200-94 victory against Lawrie Torn and Cousen then scored a 200-58 win against Branson Hoole.

Cousen made a 62 break on his first visit to the table and ran out with a 50, playing very well.

In the final match, Rob Armitage lost 200-185 to Dave Palmer, despite battling back superbly to level at one stage from a 171-90 deficit.

Cousen (-90) was also in great form for Lindley Lib in the Open Billiards League, scoring breaks of 75, 45 and 41 in defeating Milnsbridge Lib’s John Brook (75) 200-185 in a 2-1 win for his team.
