Borough of Kirklees swimmers put on a great show in the British Gas National Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Leading the way for the Huddersfield club in the National Youth Championships was Kyle Chisholm, who excelled in making the finals of three of his events.
He won through in the 15/16 years 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle, as well as reaching the semi-final of the 100m freestyle.
Matthew Hinchliffe competed in the final of the 17/18 years 200m backstroke and also the 1500m freestyle, while Daniel Cross made the semi-finals of the 15/16 years 100m and 200m backstroke.
James Reidy reached the semi-final of the 15/16 years 200m backstroke and Regen Gregg competed in the semi-final of the 17/18 years 200m breaststroke.
Hannah Pilling (15/16 years 400m individual medley) and Matthew Stanbridge (17/18 years 1500m freestyle) also competed.
The boys 4x200m freestyle team, comprising Chisholm, Gregg, Stanbridge and Hinchliffe, didn’t disappoint and produced a good performance.
At the National Disability Championships, the club had two representatives.
Jonathan Booth competed in many events and reached the finals of the 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley.
And Maisie Burnand-Martin raced in the 100m breaststroke.
The club were represented by three swimmers at the National Age Group Championships.
Rebecca Thornton was the star of the show, competing in five events in the 11/12 years age group and making the finals of both the 100m and 200m freestyle events, where she narrowly missed out on medals in both. Other competitors were Emily Robinson, in the 13/14 years 100m butterfly, and Scott Lewis, in the 15/16 years 100m backstroke.
Many club records were broken over the course of the championships with Cross beating the existing 15/16 years and senior age records in both the 100m and 200m backstroke.
Hinchliffe also set a new mark for the senior age record for the 1500m freestyle.
Chisholm became the new record holder in the 15/16 years and senior age 200m and 400m freestyle along with the 15/16 years 1500m freestyle.
And Thornton is now the record holder in the 13 years and under 100m and 200m free.
