Andy Cairns saw off the challenge of Craig Gant in the latest of the Griffin sixteens.
Cairns took an 11-2 lead by the 13th end of the final, increasing his lead to 15-5 at the 15th end.
Gant then started a fightback and at the 21st end – after a 9 break – he got within one at 15-14.
At the 26th end it was 17-17, but at the 30th end Cairns got back to 20-19, and he then bowled two bowls both within a foot, obviously Gant with his last wood played through but only just missed the end with Cairns winning after one of the best finals seen at the Griffin for many years.
Congratulations and well done to both players for providing our spectators with such an exiting and fluctuating high level of consistent bowling in a sixteen sponsored by Ronnie Wormald.
