OUTLANE’S Aileen Vickers and Longwood’s Joyce Carroll won the Ladies Afternoon League Drawn Doubles final.
In the decider at Milnsbridge BC, they beat Vicky Holroyd of Primrose Hill and Christine Wilkinson of Canalside 21-18.
The winners opened up an early 10-5 lead in the final and extended it to what looked like a commanding 16-9.
But Holroyd and Wilkinson fought back with an excellent run of nine to lead 18-16 and all was set for a thrilling finale.
So it proved, with Vickers and Carroll running out with five to take the title.

Graeme Wilson (Audenshaw) took the £1,000 first prize in the Brighouse Classic sponsored by Naylor Wintersgill (Chartered Accountants), beating Sheffield's Chris Hill 21-13 in the final.
Wilson beat Andrew Cairns to nine in his semi-final while Hill beat Paul Dudley 21-8.
