STARS from Huddersfield helped Yorkshire reach the semi-finals of the Inter-county Championship with a cracking 62-point win over Cheshire.

The home side were 233-210 victors at Marsh United while the away team won 210-196 at Altrincham Borough.

Kirkheaton Con’s Dave Fox played superbly in the home clash to beat Danny Nixon 21-8, while James Wilcox (Crossgates) was in equally impressive form to defeat Charlie Bebbington to nine.

Graham Higgins, Jack Dyson, Ashley Daykin and skipper Graham Hickey of the locals all won.

Away from home, Thongsbridge’s Nicky White went down to 12, Lower Hopton’s Robert Hitchen to 12 and Brighouse Sports’ Mark Regan to the same scoreline, but there were wins for Graeme Wilson (Lower Hopton), Ian Booth (Lower Hopton) and Chris Mordue (Brighouse Sports).
