LINDLEY Bowling Club is looking to attract new members by holding a course for those interested in learning to play the game.

The course is open to male or female – young or old – and will be held on three consecutive Saturdays in April on the 14th, 21st and 28th between 10.30 and 11.30.

Club president John Ryan said: “This is one of a number of initiatives we are adopting to attract new members. Others include the creation of a new junior membership for those aged 12 to 18 and the club is exploring the possibility of a link up with the local junior school.”

The fee for the whole course is only £10 (£5 for juniors) and includes refreshments.

This fee includes a first year membership of the club for those wishing to join the club.

The Colne Valley Bowling League, which will again be sponsored this season by KP Motors of Milnsbridge, get under way over Easter.

The Colne Valley programme opens up with the Vic Sugden Handicap preliminary rounds on Saturday, April 7.

League delegates are reminded the closing date for entries is April 1 and the final is at Longwood BC on Easter Monday (2.00).
