LOWER HOPTON’s Chris Brown won the Rastrick Classic.

The Sheffield-based player defeated clubmate Ian Booth 21-13 in the final, after earlier claiming the highest break prize for a run of 15 unanswered points.

JOSH BROWN won the Peter Thornton sponsored 15-21 competition, staged at Lockwood Con.

He beat Nathan Haigh in an excellent and very sporting final 21-18.

In the final, Brown soon took a commanding lead and was ahead at 14-6. Haigh rallied and pegged the score back to 14-11. Brown then surged ahead again leading 19-12 but Haigh, who recently won the Peter Firth competition for the third time, came back once again to make the score 19-18.

However, taking two singles in the final two ends, Brown made sure of the title.

In the semi finals, Brown beat a very resilient Danny Towning 21-12, while Haigh beat an even more determined Jake Durham 21-19.
