Bowls: Slaithwaite CBC beat Canalside in final match to land Colne Valley League title

SLAITHWAITE CBC A won the Colne Valley League Division I title by defeating Canalside Sports in their final match.

Crosland Moor, buoyed by their success in the summer season, were comfortable winners of Division II.

Marsh Utd survived a few end-of-season wobbles to pip Hemplow BC to the Division III crown, while Newsome WMC were easy winners of Division IV.

All the Floodlight League prizes, along with all the Summer League trophies, will be handed out at the annual presentation night at Longwood Bowling Club on Friday, November 2 (8.00).

Division I – Slaithwaite CBC A played 8 points 73, Canalside 8-68, Milnsbridge BC 8-43.5, Thorpe Green 8-37.5, Milnsbridge Lib 8-35.

Division II – Crosland Moor 8-73, Lindley BC A 8-60, Lockwood Con 8-43.5, Lowerhouses 8-41, Golcar Lib 8-34.5.

Division III – Marsh Utd 8-68, Hemplow BC A 8-64.5, Longwood BC 8-46.5, Linthwaite CBC 8-35.5, Slaithwaite CBC B 8-27.5.

Division IV – Newsome WMC 8-68, HRUFC BC 8-51.5, Lindley BC B 8-45.5, Hemplow BC B 8-45, Broad Oak BC 8-30.5.
