Bowls: Squad selected for Huddersfield to take part in Yorkshire Veterans Inter-district League

TWO squads have now been selected to represent Huddersfield Veterans in the Yorkshire Inter-district League.

TWO squads have now been selected to represent Huddersfield Veterans in the Yorkshire Inter-district League.

Eight players are needed home and away for each match, with Huddersfield’s season kicking off tomorrow against Wakefield (1.30).

The home team at Lindley BC will be selected from Frank Greenwood (C), Dennis Hirst, Graham Howe, John Hoyle, Stuart Manson, Brian Morley, Brendan O’Prey, Neil Small, Trevor Sykes and Roy Sutton.

The away team at Ardsley BC will be picked from Dave Burnand, Donald Crowther, Dennis Garner, Barry Gibson, Frank Griffin, Eddie Haigh (C), Mick McCluskey, Barry Nicholl, Terry Randerson, Viv Smith and Roger Stopford.

Players and officials attended a friendly trial at Lindley BC last week when the selection committee – Eddie Haigh, Derek Gee and Frank Greenwood – ran the rule over candidates. They thanked all those who took part and also Lindley BC for providing facilities and refreshments.
