CHRIS Davies was in sparkling form as he saw off the two favourites in the latest Griffin 16.

Davies saw off the favourite Ashley Daykin in the semi-finals and played brilliantly to win.

At 12 - 10 Daykin led, but Davies got back in and scored a seven break.

Daykin got back in again and raised his score to 15 and he then led out a six-inch front bowl which Davies beat just passing the jack.

Daykin did not improve with his second bowl, and Davies bowled his second bowl just as good as his first, he then led out at 19-15 and maintained his terrific form and made another two for game.

And he performed just as well in the final against second favourite Jack Dyson.

Dyson led at 14-11 but again Davies got back into the contest and made an eight break.

Dyson then scored a two and one but Davies scored another two to win his first 16 of this season securing a place in the Champion of Champions competition at the end March.
