Huddersfield's best young bowlers produced some tremendous performances to help Yorkshire Juniors take the County Championship title once again.

The White Rose proved the best of British once more thanks to a 443-392 victory against Warwick & Worcester.

Newsome WMC staged the home leg and proved a happy hunting ground for Yorkshire as they triumphed by 50 points.

The away team at Beeches in Birmingham came through by just one, but it was more than enough to take the honours.

The home side included two debutants in Marcus Leach, of Morton House, and Fern Beaumont, of Broad Oak, but they won to 15 and 17 to give the county a tremendous lift.

Harry Lumb, of Kirkheaton Con, was also outstanding to win 21-7, while Robert Wainwright, of Rothwell, was in great form to succeed 21-9.

The away side, including Chloe Ghaffer of Newsome – through Matthew Jacques, Brighouse Sports’ Joshua Mordue and Joseph Cranston.

Almondbury BC stages the finals of two county competitions on Sunday. At noon it’s the Derrick Radley Trophy final between Garforth Rec B and Oxenhope, and at 3pm Garforth Rec A take on Pudsey BC in the final of the Eric Hutchinson Memorial Trophy.
