JACK DYSON is back on top of the pile at the Griffin Bowling Club.
The Yorkshire star has endured a long barren spell at the winter venue but picked up the top prize in the latest Sixteen when defeating Gary Siswick 21-17.
Members had expected the green to be flooded, at least in places, but by the start of play the surface was remarkably good (although a bit heavy in spots) thanks to the excellent work of greenkeeper Eddie Haigh.
In the final, the game was fairly even and, at the 11th end, it was eight across.
It was still all square at 15-15 after the 19th, and 17 across three ends later, but Dyson then scored the four needed to record his first win for a long time.
He commented he had finally found a bit of form after a very poor start to this winter season and was delighted with the win.
Dyson also expressed his thanks and appreciation to sponsor Ashley Daykin.
