YORKSHIRE were in inspired form at Rastrick to set up an overall 52-point victory over Potteries in the County Championship.

The only man to lose in the home fixture was Michael Martin on debut – taking the place of the injured Robert Hitchen – but the Canalside man went all the way to 20 across before being pipped by Paul Phillips, of Middleport Park.

Man of the match in the home leg was Dave Fox of Kirkheaton Con, who won to four.

It was tougher for the away side at Birches Head Hotel, with only four matches being won, but three of the losers posted 19 points to ensure they went down by only 31.

With an 83-point success at home, it meant the overall result was 447-395.
