BRIAN MORLEY got in as a reserve and stormed to victory in the third Sixteen competition of the season at the Griffin Bowling Club.

It was the second consecutive Sixteen event that had been won by a reserve after the success of Peter Ramsden last month.

Morley won the Geoff Sigsworth-sponsored event with a 21-17 victory against Waterloo veteran Roy Sutton in the final.

Final: Morley 21 Sutton 17.

This weekend sees two days of qualifying with the preliminary rounds of the Rosebowl competition, sponsored by Lockwood Windows.

Players compete for a place in the intermediate stage on November 19.
