RAVENSKNOWLE Park are another bowling club in Huddersfield desperate for new members to avoid teams folding.
Club secretary Tony Senior makes no bones about the fact most members are ‘getting on’ and he says the need for new blood is urgent.
"As you can see from the picture, we are an ageing club and are desperate to recruit new blood,” he said.
“Anyone wanting to become a member needs to fit some pretty simple criteria – being old or young, male or female, beginner or experienced!
“We have just one team in the Huddersfield & District Bowling Association and if new recruits can’t be found we could end up folding.
“We have, however, two teams in the Huddersfield & District Veterans Association, one in Section 2 and one in Section 5.”
Annual membership is £10 and this includes Kirklees Green Fee and free entry into all the club’s knockouts.
