Netherton Con made an excellent staging of the British Crown Green Junior Merit final for Yorkshire.

The event was won by Adam Patrick of Warwick and Worcester, who will be up against Yorkshire juniors in the county championship final. He beat Wales’ Dylan Williams 21-18 in the showpiece on a day when Yorkshire’s two representatives made little headway.

Joseph Cranston went out in the first round and Matthew Jacques in the second.

Anton Haigh, who is well known in these parts but plays for South Yorkshire, was defeated in the semi-finals, a top performance.
