Woodfield Park ‘A’ have made a great start to defending the Huddersfield Table Tennis League’s first division title they won last year.
They have started the season with a couple of 10-0 victories in the first two rounds of matches.
Firstly, the team of Nick Ryder, Keith Skarz and Darren Lindley beat Kingsmith Engineering ‘B’ with Ryder and Skarz pairing up for the doubles.
In their second outing Ian McLean replaced Skarz in the singles and doubles and they came away with another maximum at the expense of March Con ‘A’.
In Division II there are nine teams represented by three clubs – Deighton Leisure Centre, Kingsmith Engineering and Marsh Con clubs.
It will be interesting to see if the remaining teams in the division – Scissett WMC ‘A’ and Woodfield Park ‘B’ – can prevent one of the nine gaining promotion to the higher division.
In the third division New North Road Baptist Church ‘A’ and Scissett WMC ‘A’ have started the season in fine form by only dropping two sets and three sets respectively from their opening two matches.
Teams are reminded to ensure that any cancelled or postponed match needs to be rearranged within four weeks of the original fixture date.
