MARK THAXTER was the big winner when Huddersfield Star Wheelers held their prize presentation at Bradley Park Golf Club.

Having taken a clean sweep of the Time Trial trophies, Thaxter was prominent at an event attended by over 75 members and guests.

Guest of honour was Richard Chapman, who entertained everyone before prizes were awarded.

Graham Piccavey picked up two trophies, Veteran & Cyclo-Cross, and was in good form in the recent “Hit the North”.

This event takes place in Philips Park, Manchester and competitors can ride any kind of bike.

Piccavey, electing to compete on a Cyclo-Cross bike, was 46th out of 235 finishers, while clubmate Peter Dukes was 84th in a race won by Ian Taylor (Craven Energy).

First place in the Youth race went to Billy Harding (Paul Milnes RT), while Joe Williams (Holme Valley Wheelers) was an impressive fourth in the Under 14 Boys category.

Kirklees Cycling Academy are promoting the British Schools Regional Cyclo-Cross Championships at Spen Valley Sports College on Sunday March 4.

Former KCA rider Josh Cutler (RST Racing Team) won the Unknown Distance race at the Friday Night Track League at Manchester Velodrome.

In the ACT Track League, KCA riders were to the fore with Harry Hardcastle in second place in the 8-lap Youth Handicap race, and the Hollyman brothers, Mason & Henry, were part of the winning team in the Italian Pursuit race.
