The area’s younger players had to contend with tough conditions and swirling winds at the Woodsome Hall Junior Open.

The youngsters followed the scratch players who were playing in the 36-hole Jubilee Trophy.

The overall winner was Robert Dickenson, of Woodsome Hall, with a nett 63 in his Division II.

Meltham’s Ashley Campbell won through in Division I with a nett 65.

Woodsome junior Seb Crabtree (30) deserved a special mention for posting a score of 100-28-72, the first time he has played from the white tees.
