Four tournaments played, four cuts made.

That’s Chris Hanson’s record after a month on the road around Europe.

The Woodsome Hall man is reflecting on a successful four weeks – and reflecting what might have been with a couple more good rounds.

Highlight of his events was his four-over-par T39 at the Made in Denmark European Tour event in mid August, which earned him a prize of 9,300 euros.

He followed this up with a solid performance at his next European Tour event, the Czech Masters at the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague, where he shot level par over the four rounds to land himself a T52 place and cheque for 3,438 euros.

A few days later in his hectic schedule he headed over to Galgorm Castle for the Challenge Tour’s Northern Ireland Open Classic and a 47th
position.

On Monday this week, the father-of-one arrived back in Huddersfield after the Open Blue Green Cote D’Armor Bretagne in Brittany, where he finished one over par and T49.

He said: “Overall it has been good. I have made four cuts out of four. My game is getting back to where it should be and I’ve started to reap the rewards on Tour.

“I am disappointed that I was 14th after the first round in Ireland and 14th after the third round at the weekend in France.

“I shot three rounds of 68 and a final round of 75, which obviously isn’t good enough and has left a bit of a sour taste.

“I lost a ball on the first tee and I was on the back foot from there.

“You do lose a bit of confidence and if you don’t pull it back you are fighting the whole way round.

“But there’s still five weeks of the season left and I’m looking forward to playing in Italy at the beginning of October after some time at home.”

There are still places available for four-person teams in the Arrow Golf Day, which supports Hanson, on September 29. For further details email him at hansonprogolf@googlemail.com
