Warm sunshine provided perfect playing conditions for Crow Nest Park’s annual Seniors Open day.
A total of 19 four-man teams gathered from all over West Yorkshire and Lancashire, many of whom had competed in previous years.
Despite some tricky pin positions and quick greens, the scoring proved good with four teams exceeding 10 under par.
The overall winners were the home team of Alan Littlefair, Bernard Thompson, Stuart Broadbent and Roy Harrison, with a commendable score of 94 points, 14 under par.
The runners-up on 92 was a team from Werneth Golf Club, Oldham, winning on a countback from a home team led by Crow Nest Senior Captain, Mick Wolfenden. Best Visiting Team prize went to a Low Laithes team with 92 points.
The event ran smoothly and credit was extended to the Senior Section team, which included Richard Smith, Dennis Hitchcock and Roger Carter.
