Dewsbury District’s James Ward and Ben Crowther came out all guns blazing to take the Halifax-Huddersfield Union Scratch Foursomes Championship at Saddleworth.

The pairing turned a one-hole deficit after the first 18 holes into a 5&3 victory over Huddersfield’s Aaron Schnacke and Brad Tupman.

The final was sponsored by The Lodge@Birkby Hall and referee was Union President Philip Thompson.

Willow Valley’s Stephen Henry and Craig Harris built on their three-hole lead in the Handicap Foursomes from the initial contest at Saddleworth on September 15, which had to be suspended due to heavy rain. They went on to post an emphatic 8&6 win over Huddersfield’s Jonathan Croall and Lee Weighman. Referee was Barry Suddick.

Welsh player Megan Lockett and Union Junior Matchplay Champion Josh Morton, Huddersfield, held on to their two-hole lead from the first round. They took the Junior title by the same margin against Woodsome Hall’s Seamus Hooley and George Brady. Sponsor was Woodbrim and Bryan Webb was referee.
