CHRIS HANSON finished a shot adrift of the joint winners in the opening Yorkshire PGA event of the season, the Links Challenge at Bridlington Links where the Crosland Heath tournament man shot one under par 71.

Malton & Norton assistant Fraser Kelley posted an early 70 then was joined in a three-way tie by Yorkshire PGA champion Adrian Ambler, from Walton Golf Centre, and Pannal veteran David Padgett. They shared the title and the top money, all taking £380.

Hanson, making his Yorkshire PGA debut, tied in a group of eight while Mirfield Driving Range man Robert Kershaw finished a shot further back in a group including last year’s winner John Wells.
