FORMER Bradley Park Golf Club professional Jamie Coverley has been appointed to the Head Office as part of Direct Golf UK’s re-structuring.

A Class AA PGA professional for 15 years, Coverley only joined Direct Golf from Bradley just over 12 months ago and was quickly appointed manager of the Huddersfield Stadium Store and Driving range.

However, his new appointment will see him installed as Marketplace and Category manager at the company’s Head Office.

He has a wealth of experience, not only in coaching, but also in retail and buying, having started his career under the guidance of Direct Golf founder John Andrew at Crosland Heath in 1990.

“Jamie is well respected within our business and his knowledge was fundamental to his appointment and gives me great confidence,” said managing director Neil Bell.

Coverley has already seen a immediate benefit to his new post after being called up as part of the team to attend the PGA Merchandise Show in the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida this week, along with company chairman Andrew.

Although still some way off, Elland Golf Club are already taking entries for their popular May Day Mixed Open Greensomes.

Played off full handicap, prizes will be awarded to first, second and third best nett and best gross scores, along with nearest the pin for both men and women.

The entry fee is £20 per couple with provisional allocation of tee-times being confirmed on receipt of the fee.
