The Halifax-Huddersfield Ladies’ Evening League end-of-season Jamboree was held at West End.

Bradley Hall won the fourball betterball event with 66 Stableford points. They also won the prize for the best score on the par threes with 26 points.

Runners-up were Lightcliffe with 60 and 20 points. Anita Diamond from West End won the nearest the pin on the 13th with an excellent 96 cm.

The Jamboree was followed by a hot beef sandwich lunch provided by West End Catering and then the annual meeting.

Angela Riley presented the season winners’ trophy to Lightcliffe ladies who took top spot for the second year running with 18 points in seven matches. Crow Nest Park and Huddersfield were equal second, each with 16.5 points.

The league organisation is rotated, and in 2014 it will be Hebden Bridge’s turn. New clubs are welcome (contact Hebden Bridge for details).

The league’s aim is to provide an inexpensive opportunity for working ladies, students and schoolgirls to play competitive golf on different courses in the area.

Members are also keen to promote women’s golf and new lady members at their clubs.
