Holly Horsfall from Thongsbridge Tennis Club has won her first International Tennis Federation title.

The Hepworth-based teenager was successful in the girls doubles at the latest junior ITF tournament in Podgorica, Montenegro – partnering Lauryn John-Baptiste of Middlesex to success.

Holly travelled with International Travelling Coach Rob Smith and made the main draw in the singles, but unfortunately she went down in the first round to her Serbian opponent, Milica Cubranovic, 6-2 7-6(5).

In the doubles, however, it was a different story.

Holly and Lauryn were ranked No4 and quickly progressed to the final, dropping only 13 games along the way and beating the No1 seeds (from Poland).

In the final, Holly and Lauryn produced fine form in beating the No2 seeds from Romania and Serbia 6-4, 6-3.

Holly is now up to 811 in the world rankings – a terrific achievement as she has been juggling her GCSEs with her tennis commitments.
