HOLMFIRTH A retained third place in Ladies Division I of the Slazenger Huddersfield and District Tennis League with a win over fourth-placed Rastrick A.
A hard-fought match brought an 11-6 win for Holmfirth, whose first couple of Kate Mallin and Sue Brass won all the six they played.
Their second couple of Gillian Kilner and Rachel Brass won four out of five, while Rastrick’s second pair of Gill Wright and Helen Brown headed their challenge winning three of the six sets they played.
