Huddersfield Cobras Black Belt Grading

A CLUTCH of students from Huddersfield Cobras Karate Club have been rewarded with their black belts following several years of training.

A CLUTCH of students from Huddersfield Cobras Karate Club have been rewarded with their black belts following several years of training.

Fourteen members attained their black belt first dan status, and they were Ella Whiteley, Charlie Jakeman, Joshua Burgin, Thomas Deakin, Jake Barrowclough, Lewis Wright-Bedford, Olivia Beaumont, Amy Tyler, Lily Hesling, Jacob Gilbert, Chris Wood, David Walker, Ashley Wilkins and Corban Eastwood.

Club members have been training with the Cobras for between two and seven years, and those receiving their second dans were Niamh Sadler, Louis Maguire, Joe Smith, Ben Parker, Fern Jessop and Jordan Wimpenny.

Two members have gone on to achieve their third dan, Paul McIntish and Rose McIntosh.

Under the guidance of chief instructor Richard Hardy, the Cobras Karate club has been teaching children and adults the sport at Honley Community Centre for 13 years.
