Huddersfield Dragons are preparing to take part in the ‘Back to Hockey Campaign’.

The scheme organised by England Hockey is aiming to get men and women up and down the country back playing hockey.

The sessions are aimed at people who haven’t played before or haven’t picked up a stick since school or university.

The Dragons are committed to encouraging more participation and are looking forward to a busy summer calendar aimed at getting more players of all ages engaged in the sport.

Dragons head coach Kelly Pryde-Fillingham said: “I’m really excited about our plans over the summer, increasing participation is a really important part of the job.

“It’s a great way for people to get active, develop new skills, socialise and become part of something fun.

“We have had some great success with back to hockey, we have players that came to the sessions two years ago that are now playing in the senior teams – one has even gone on to be a captain.

“We also have others that have chosen to stay with the more relaxed back to hockey sessions and are loving them. ”

Huddersfield Dragons are running mixed back to hockey sessions on Thursdays 7.30–8.30pm from July 2 at Lockwood priced at £3 per session.

Everyone over the age of 16 is welcome and for more information please visit the clubs website www.huddersfielddragons.co.uk or email our coach Kelly.fillingham@googlemail.com
