ED CLANCY took this year’s Revolution Series Elite title at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow in front of a sell-out crowd of almost 4,000 fans.

In the Flying Lap former Holme Valley rider Clancy electrified the crowd and made it four wins out of four in the series as he posted 13.565 sec – almost a full second faster than his nearest rival.

Then in the 60 lap Points race he produced another world class ride to take a comfortable win from Christian Grasmann (Rudy Project) and Simon Yates (Maxgear Racing).

In the Madison Time Trial Clancy went first wheel, allowing teammate James McCullum to bring home the victory in front of his home crowd.

They posted 56.928, more than a second faster than their closest rivals from Rudy Project, with everyone in the arena on their feet screaming their appreciation.

The last event, the 60 lap scratch, produced some serious attacks and Clancy finished fourth, enough to seal a series victory for himself and Rapha Condor Sharp JLT.

The DHL Future Stars event saw Halifax’s Levi Moody (Sportscover on the night) win the series title in fine style having started the evening with the yellow jersey.

In the 20 lap points race his RST teammates Gabz Cullaigh and Joey Walker worked hard to set a testing pace and delivered him for the final, blistering sprint.

On the line Tom Rotherham (Maxgear Racing) just nudged ahead of Moody to take the win.

Then in the six-lap dash Walker heroically led Moody out for three full laps to deliver him into the final lap and another hard fought sprint to take a clear win.

In the 20 lap Scratch race Moody raced cannily knowing every rider was watching and waiting for his attack.

Cullaigh and Walker launched a couple of dummy attacks to stretch the field and Moody responded with two to go with a finely calibrated attack.

In the final 100 metres Tom Rotherham and Leon Gledhill (Sportscover) got over him to take first and second.

However, it was not enough to deprive him of a very well deserved series victory.

Afterwards Clancy said of Moody’s victory: “I noticed his performances at the last meeting in Manchester and he was excellent then.

“He’s obviously got a good future ahead of him, and I think he is better than I was at 16.”

Highlights of the Glasgow event can be seen on ITV4 at 8pm on Thursday, February 7, repeated 11.50am Friday, February 8 and available for 30-day catch-up on ITV Player.

Mirfield rider Jake Womersley (Sportscover) delivered a spirited performance in the Cyclo-Cross World Championships in Kentucky.

He finished as the highest placed GB rider in the Junior race, coming home in 17th place, ahead of Billy Harding (Paul Milnes/Bradford Olympic), who had a great start and was in seventh at one point before dropping back.
