Rising racket star Hannah Boden has become a dual international.

The 14-year-old from Brockholes has been called up into the England Under 15 badminton squad – having just returned from representing her country at the World Racketlon Championships in Poland.

Boden has now been selected to represent England at badminton for the European 8 Nations tournament in France in February.

The Honley High School student is proving a true all-rounder, having played badminton and tennis for Yorkshire – she is the current Yorkshire Under 15 badminton champion – and has been selected to attend the West Yorkshire netball academy.

Her national call follows hard on the heels of a double medal success in Poland for England in the racketlon – which features tennis, table tennis, badminton and squash – squads.

Playing for England Under 21s, Boden was part of the team which finished third to take the bronze medal, and was part of the England Elite team which finished sixth.

Boden then went on to win a silver medal in the Under 21 Ladies Doubles event, with her partner Bettina Bugl from Austria.
